Cookies!!!! (The Hanukkah/Christmas Edition)

Anyways, my fellow CBs, it is time to sign up for the Hanukkah/Christmas Cookie Exchange. Here's how it works:

1. You sign up by e-mailing cary_sanz@yahoo.com with your secret CB identity, your real name, and your address. (And let me know if you have any food allergies!) I will add you to the list.

2. The list closes December 8th. Shortly thereafter, you will receive an e-mail list of all the participants with their addresses.

You will then:

a) bake enough cookies (or other goodies) to make up a package for each CB on your list.

b) mail them to your fellow Cookie-Exchange CBs between December 14th and December 20th.

In return for standing in line at the post office behind that one person shipping 6 packages to 4 different relatives, who didn’t bother to prep his mailing labels before getting to the counter; in exchange for not screaming at your computer when faced with the slow servers powering USPS.com’s Click’n’Ship service, YOU will be rewarded with cookies from your fellow CBs! (Share them with your loved ones or hide them in your desk drawer – we won’t tell. Unless you’re Cherry Magic Sheryl, who better share with her mother!)

Don't worry, you won't be asked to mail a hundred bundles of cookies. For cost, convenience, and the sake of anyone's diet, if a lot of people sign up, the list will be divided into (smaller) geographic areas.

Here is the Hanukkah/Christmas Cookie/Goodies Exchange list as it stands on December 7th:

Me (Cary_S) Location: Newberg, OR
Orangehands Location: LA, CA
ME (that would be ME with the initials KM): Location: Utica, MI
KL Location: Seattle(?), Washington
Scope Dope CherryBomb Location: Ontario, Canada
Cherry Magic Sheryl Location: Ontario, Canada
D**n Lurker (as BCB would say) Location: Southwest Attic Corner (okay, Chapel Hill, NC)
Diane (twinkie**) Location: Ashland, Oregon

Anyone else who'd like in on the sugar high, please e-mail me at cary_sanz@yahoo.com. Thanks to everyone who is participating!!!

Cookies!!!!

I need a picture of the Cookie Monster. (Of course, there are days when only my picture would be needed....)

Anyways, my fellow CBs, it is time to sign up for the Thanksgiving Cookie Exchange. Here's how it works:

1. You sign up by e-mailing cary_sanz@yahoo.com with your secret CB identity, your real name, and your address. (And let me know if you have any food allergies!) I will add you to the list.

2. The list closes November 10th. Shortly thereafter, you will receive an e-mailed list of all the participants with their addresses.

You will then:

a) bake enough cookies (or other goodies) to make up a package for each CB on your list.

b) mail them to your fellow Cookie-Exchange CBs between November 17th and November 20th.

In return for your visit to that seventh circle of he** known as The Post Office, you will receive many gifts (goodies) right around Thanksgiving.

Don't worry, you won't be asked to mail a hundred bundles of cookies. For cost, convenience, and the sake of anyone's diet, if a lot of people sign up, the list will be divided into (smaller) geographic areas.

Oh, and if Thanksgiving doesn't work for you, the Christmas/Hanukah Exchange List opens November 28th.

Here is the Thanksgiving Cookie/Goodies Exchange list as it stands on November 6th:

Me (Cary_S) Location: Newberg OR
Lori Location: unknown
Marcia in OK Location: well duh...
McB Location: Washington, DC
Dee (on behalf of DD) Location: unknown
LuLu Location: Colton, WA
Andi Location: Acworth, GA

Anyone else who'd like in on the sugar shock, please e-mail me at cary_sanz@yahoo.com. Thanks to everyone who is participating!!!

So, When Do We Get Our Cookies?!

The poll has been running neck-and-neck over the Thanksgiving vs. Christmas/Hanukah timing. Do we want to split the cookie exchange in to two separate events? Splitting in to smaller groups could also make the exchange a bit easier for all the bakers. I'm game to organize for both if that is what we'd like to do...

Also, we've got (at last count)18 votes but only 11 people have signed up. I'm assuming there are some people out there who'd like to participate, but aren't ready to commit (and really, there is plenty of time).

Since it's only early October, I won't close the poll for a few more weeks. And the list won't close until about 2 weeks before we start.

CBs, pull out your cookbooks! (And maybe stock up on insulin....)

Poll

The First CB Cookie Exchange List (Now Outdated)

Here is the list as it stands this evening....

Sigh.....

Here's to hoping the men-in-black don't find this...

I figured I'd set up a blog. Which, of course, almost no one will read. Unless I make them (all part of my plan to TOTW, of course).

Maybe I'll publish a recommended reading list... Or show you what's on my ipod.

Most likely, I'll just forget I set this up, and it will be just one more abandoned warehouse along the information superhighway. (Confess - how many web-based email accounts have you abandoned already?)
